Q. Do I have to book or just turn up?
A. We’ve made it simple for you… You can do either!
Booking online via HERE saves your spot, as we are a Boutique Studio with a limit per class; and it can save time if you’re in a rush or want to book ahead to set your schedule.
Just turn up before the class you’d like to join and pay cash or card at the studio

Q. I’m a Beginner… are your classes suitable for beginners?
A. Yes! They are all suitable for a beginners. Have a look at our events, we may be holding a Beginners Course soon.
Q. What do I have to Bring?
A. We have everything you need at the studio to attend one of our relaxing classes (include yoga mats and a water station). Otherwise, feel free to bring your own mat (if you have one) and water bottle.
It’s that simple!
Q. I’m NOT Flexible… can I do yoga?
A. Of course you can! You should’ve seen me when I began yoga! Flexibility is not a requirement; yoga is suitable for everyone!
It’s a myth that you need to be flexible to practice yoga! Flexibility is something that develops over time with practicing yoga regularly.
Q. I can’t meditate! I can’t still my mind… or sit still.
A. If you’re aware of your body, breath, what you’re doing right now… you’re meditating!
It is a common misconception that to meditate, you must sit in silence and stillness with no thoughts whatsoever. Lucky for us, there’s many other ways! Participating in any yoga or meditation classes, you will learn techniques to help calm your active mind and help reduce stress. No need for previous experience, all that is require is a commitment on your behalf. It takes time to retrain our brains, to be patient and practice!
Q. I'm new to yoga and feel a little nervous in attending a class
A. Feeling nervous is natural when trying anything new. At Chief Machu Picchu, everyone is welcome and encouraged; you listen to your body and stop whenever you need a break.
We give students variations and modifications that can help deepen their practice safely and effectively.
You will be amazed at how quickly you will find an increase in your fitness, endurance, strength and flexibility. Everything takes time, be patient with your body and mind.
Q. How do I book online?
A. To book a class online, the first step is to create a Chief Machu Picchu account via our online booking system, MindBody or smart phone App. This will only take a couple of minutes. Here you can book classes and register for your Introductory Offer for your First week with unlimited access to all classes.
* Note the Intro Offer won’t start until the date of your first visit.
Q. Why all the fuss? What's so good about yoga?
A. Yoga has incredible health benefits and will help to reduce stress and anxiety levels, among many other physical and mental issues.
Q. What classes can I attend if I am pregnant?
We recommend ‘Yin’ or ‘Balance’, please notify the instructor prior to class so they can modify poses suitably for you. Please consult your health care practitioner prior to commencement of any yoga classes.
Q. What styles do you offer? What are your pricing Options?
Q. Are there Change Room / Toilet Facilities / Showers Available?
A. Yes, we have change rooms along with Male & Female Toilets, yet no showers on the premises.
Q. Best place for parking?
A. Free Parking in Ruthven St. and Margret St. for 1 – 2 Hours with Unlimited parking available after 5pm.
Grand Central also offer parking with the closest entrance being Duggan St. or Little St.
Q. What other services do you offer?
A. We offer an array of holistic health modalities. These range from: Private one on one or group yoga classes, Ayurvedic and body-work massage among much more! Please see our Blog page to keep up-to-date with upcoming events, offers and special packages.
Q. How often should I practice to see results?
A. A steady yoga practice requires diligence, discipline, commitment and consistency. Depending on your specific goals, we’d recommend a practice of 2 - 3 times a week. If you are time-short or new to yoga, it would be beneficial to begin to introduce yoga into your weekly routine by attending 1 – 3 times a week. Here you will produce results quickly and effectively.
Techniques you learn in class are techniques you can incorporate into your daily life to help reduce stress and anxiety, maintaining balanced health.
Please be mindful of others. If you are running 5 – 10 minutes late, you’re still welcome to join, yet enter quietly and respectfully. Please wait on the chairs provided outside until the previous class has concluded; the door will be opened when the instructor is ready to welcome you into the next class.
Leaving your shoes, bags, phones (on silent), on the shelf provided. Ensuring the room remains clutter free.
If you are borrowing a mat, please wipe the mats over with spray provided, to ensure they remain clean and hygienic for the next use.
